The Cosmetics & Toiletries (C&T) Allē Awards are "doubling down" on cosmetics innovation by extending the submission deadline to Aug. 1, 2023.

"Innovation can be difficult to set to a schedule, as many of you know," explained Rachel Grabenhofer, managing scientific editor, C&T. "A good example of this is our own awards portal, which was newly built and opened later than we had planned — but we're in full 'go mode' now, so we want to give innovators as much time as possible to get every entry in front of our esteemed panel of judges," said Grabenhofer. " And I might add, the judges are eager to take a closer look — they've told me so."
As previously described, the C&T Allē Awards, presented by C&T and parent company Allured Business Media, are designed to bring behind-the-scenes ingenuity in cosmetics and personal care R&D into the spotlight. Submission types range from cosmetic ingredients (actives and bases), finished formulas (indie, mass and prestige), testing methods/tools and digital technologies (consumer and business users), to the newly added chassis/blends and commercial devices.
Ingredients, formulas and chassis/blends are further divided into ten categories: Anti-aging, Bath/Shower, Color Cosmetics, Hair/Scalp Care, Microbiome-focused, Nutricosmetics, Skin Care, Sun/Light Protection, Toiletries (Hygiene, AP/Deo, Oral Care & Intimate Care) and the newly added Natural/Bio-derived. Eligible entries must have been initially launched or implemented between June 1, 2022, and Oct. 31, 2023 (note that entries can be submitted pre-launch).

Each submission requires the paid fee and a supporting document for each of the following parameters (where relevant): 1) novelty, 2) utility/multifunctionality, 3) sustainability and 4) safety/stability/proof of efficacy. Full ingredient disclosures also must be provided for formulas and chassis/blends, and any demo videos/urls with logins (if needed) for digital technology entries. Our esteemed panel of judges, hailing from Shiseido, L'Oréal, Goop, The Estée Lauder Cos. and many others, will review these documents to rate each entry; note that physical samples are not being accepted at this time.
Finalists will be announced in November 2023 and winners will be celebrated at an exclusive red carpet gala, to be held on March 6, 2024, at the Millennium Biltmore in Los Angeles, alongside our Beauty Accelerate event. Check out the C&T Allē Awards page for more information.
